Acute Services Division
“From 2004 NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has had a Service Agreement in place with the DSA for the disposal of redundant equipment.
During that period the services provided by the DSA have been highly effective in assisting the Board in achieving its objectives in the respect of the safe and efficient disposal of redundant equipment.
The agreement enables the Board meets its environmental targets and has proved to be a cost effective solution. An additional benefit is derived from the sale of surplus items, which has both provided additional income and has removed the Board’s liability in respect of any item sold at auction too.
Based on the relationship that we have built between both organisations over the past years, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have extended the agreement for a further three years. I, therefore personally would have no hesitation in recommending the services provided by the Disposal Service Authority to your organisation.”

NHS Forth Valley
"NHS Forth Valley have participated in a Customer Supplier Agreement with the DSA since July 2010. The Health Board were facing a major disposal challenge with the closure of two acute hospitals and transfer of hospital services into a new hospital.
The DSA procedure provided a straightforward and auditable means for the disposal of various categories of equipment. DSA had in place a number of vetted contractors who efficiently arranged the clearance, disposal, resale, as appropriate.
Relationships were built with contractors as well as DSA staff. Sites were cleared in an organised manner and at times to suit Health Board timescales. A small amount of income was also realised by the Health Board.
All in all, the DSA provided a one stop shop in a sphere where the Health Board had very little experience."
